The 4th of July celebrations are kicking off today with The Gathering at the Rich Brown residence followed by the 1/2 New Year's Party at Booby Hatch Ground Zero. It is expected that the H0B0 Virus will spread rapidly starting tonight and through the next days coming to a climax on the night of July 3rd.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend. Now, that it's the dreaded Monday after, we're back to the grind, and finally getting over our hangovers, I thought I'd chime in with a little update on some of the 4th of July.
As you probably know, I made a surprise appearance for the HOBO Induction. Thanks to a kind co-worker, I as able to get my shift covered. I decided to make a JJ-esque appearance and stop the show decked out in my seersucker apparel. Because of my short 4th of July, I won't be able to recap the whole depth of 4th of July activities. I will leave that to everyone else. Please chime in on your experiences and give us recaps of each of the events. I'm sure there are some HOBOs and FOHs out there who couldn't make it and are eager to hear some firsthand reports.

Welcome loyal HOBO Followers to the infamous month of May. Of course, everyone here has heard the legend of "Every Day in May." This was part of the beginning of all that is HOBO.
Did you know, that this May marks the 5-year anniversary of HOBO? Five years ago this month a bunch of broke guys drank a lot of beer and had a great time in a small house on Longyear Street in Bessemer. From this, the powerhouse known as HOBO was formed.
Can you believe that was five years ago? Let's discuss some of our favorite HOBO memories. And to celebrate the 5 years of HOBO-ification on the unsuspecting 21 members of HOBO and the countless "Friends of HOBO," this 4th of July celebration should be the biggest yet. Lets start planning, pitch us some ideas!

Today, we'll stick with pictures from the 4th of July Kiddie Parade and go back a little further. This time I have really long hair and I have decided to steal Matt Hellman's tractor. He sure doesn't look very happy about this. What is Matt saying to me? Tell me in the comments.
Today, we're going way old school with yours truly riding his bike in the 4th of July Kiddie Parade. After this, I rode my bike over to Uncle Sam's for the next stop on the Poker Run.
I'm not sure who any of the other kids are in the picture, but if you can identify anyone post it in the comments.
I want to let everyone in on some bad news that I just heard. I called my dad this morning and he said that the 4th of July Committee called him down at the VFW this morning to tell them to cancel any events that were planned for down there. He said that the 4th of July Committee has decided not to go forward with this year's celebration.
What he was told, is that there is not enough funding for this year's events. With the increase in prices of gas and other items they felt they couldn't hold any of the events. Also, they were lacking on volunteers, so they decided to cancel this year's events.
He was told that they are teaming with Wakefield for the parade and fireworks over Sunday Lake, but this is all that will be happening in the area this year.
